Report: Jets coach benching 2 over punches in loss

Jets coach Rex Ryan will bench safety James Ihedigbo and linebacker Marques Murrell for throwing punches at Bills tight end Derek Fine in overtime of Sunday's loss, The New York Post reported Thursday.
Ryan informed both players they wouldn't play Sunday against the Raiders. Neither is expected to travel to Oakland with the team.
Both Jets players were fined $5,000 by the NFL for throwing the punches.
The play in question occurred on Leon Washington's kickoff return to start overtime. Both Jets threw punches at Fine at the end of the play; Ihedigbo was ejected from the game, and the penalty left the Jets with poor field position
Buffalo went on to earn a 16-13 victory.
Ihedigbo told the newspaper he has apologized. "It was clearly uncharacteristic of me and the kind of person and player I am,'' he said.
Murrell wasn't in the locker room after practice and was unavailable for comment.
