Report: Fisher to hire son from Lions

Published Feb. 2, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher is set to add his son — Detroit Lions defensive assistant Brandon Fisher — to his coaching staff, the Detroit Free Press reported, citing a team source.

The Lions previously said all of their assistant coaches had re-signed but refused to mention Fisher, who spent one season on the staff, by name.

A Lions spokesman told the newspaper Wednesday that he was unaware of Fisher's status with the team.

Jeff Fisher's attempt to hire his son to his Titans staff, which was blocked by owner Bud Adams, apparently contributed to his decision to leave Tennessee last year after more than 16 seasons.

The 53-year-old joined the Rams last month despite being heavily courted by the Miami Dolphins.
