Report: Dolphins' Jordan Cameron out for season, could retire due to concussions

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Dolphins tight end Jordan Cameron is done for the season and will consider retiring due to concussions, the Miami Herald reports.

Miami will place Cameron on injured reserve on Saturday, which will end his season. He hasn’t played since September 25, when he suffered his fourth concussion in four seasons.

The Herald reports both player and team have been extremely cautious handling the health situation, and after seeing a specialist, Cameron learned “he would not be 100% for some time.” He had begun non-contact physical activity.

Cameron is in the last year of his deal with Miami and is reportedly unlikely to return next season, given the health concerns. Retirement would bring an end to his six-year career.
