Report: Dolphins CB Brent Grimes has knee sprain, injury isn't serious

Published Oct. 6, 2015 2:33 p.m. ET

The Miami Dolphins were given a scare in London on Sunday when cornerback Brent Grimes left the game with a knee injury and did not return. Fortunately, the injury doesn't appear to be serious.

According to Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel, an MRI revealed that Grimes suffered a sprained knee and there was no structural damage. The Dolphins are currently on their bye week, which bodes well for Grimes' availability for Week 6. He has yet to miss a game during his time with the Dolphins, so he'll certainly try to be on the field in two weeks.

Grimes reportedly has some discomfort in his knee but can still run. Needless to say, the bye week couldn't have come at a better time for both Grimes and the Dolphins.

Miami is currently 1-3 and sitting at the bottom of the AFC East and is going through changes on the coaching staff. Dan Campbell has been named the interim head coach after the team fired Joe Philbin, and vows to change the culture among the players.
