Report: Dolphins add former Cowboys CB Tyler Patmon to practice squad
The Dallas Cowboys made a somewhat surprising move on Wednesday, releasing slot cornerback Tyler Patmon. Jason Garrett said it was nothing more than a performance issue, but the Cowboys are now especially thin at corner. Dallas reportedly wanted to sign Patmon to the practice squad with Garrett saying "we wanted him back," but the second-year corner didn't feel the same way.
According to Omar Kelly and several reports, the Miami Dolphins have signed Patmon to their practice squad. They also added running back Trey Williams and defensive end Julius Warmsely, as well.
Patmon elected not to return to Dallas and chose to explore other options, thus deciding to sign with the Dolphins. He started two games for Dallas this season, recording 13 tackles and six passes defensed.
The Dolphins have issues at cornerback with Jamar Taylor struggling and Bobby McCain injured, so Patmon can be a valuable addition if he winds up on the 53-man roster.
