Report: Broncos rookie safety fined $20K

Broncos rookie safety Rahim Moore was fined $20,000 for his illegal helmet-to-helmet hit on Bills receiver Donald Jones in last weekend's preseason game, the Denver Post reported Thursday.

Moore was handed a 15-yard personal foul penalty for the ferocious hit last Saturday after Jones was knocked from the field as he reached, and missed, a pass.

The hit sparked brief confrontations on the field, while Jones lay flattened on the sideline, before the unrest died down. Jones later walked to the locker room of his own volition.

Moore was pulled from the game by his coaches following the incident, but was not ejected.

His fine followed other equal punishments for hard preseason hits. Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster, Jaguars linebacker Mike Lockley and Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh were among the players fined.
