There's still hope that Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Kevin White can play this season.

According to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears plan to start a 21-day practice window for White. At the end of the window, the team must either promote him to the active roster or shut him down for the remainder of the season.

The Bears drafted White with the seventh-overall selection in this year's draft. The West Virginia product was supposed to stretch the field for Chicago this season, but a stress fracture in his left shin first forced him to the sideline in June. Then, in August, he underwent a surgical procedure to have a rod inserted in his leg for recovery purposes.

White, 23, started the season on the physically-unable-to-perform list. Although his rookie debut may come with only a few games left, the Bears would rather flash their first-round pick now than wait until next year to see what he can do.
