Report: Atlanta attempting to land Bruce Irvin from Seattle?

Published Apr. 30, 2015 1:02 p.m. ET

Apparently not every defensive player for the Seattle Seahawks is ready to say goodbye to Dan Quinn just yet. D. Orlando Ledbetter from the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported the rumor that Quinn and the Atlanta Falcons may be working a deal to land current Seahawk Bruce Irvin.

Ledbetter began by explaining that "Seattle linebacker Bruce Irvin, who recently told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he wanted to play for the Falcons, is reportedly being discussed in a trade, according to ProFootballTalk."

To go along with the fact that Irvin spent the last two seasons playing under Quinn, the Seahawks apparently do not plan to pick up the linebacker's fifth-year option. This may mean that a deal could very well be on the table.

Quinn apparently has some incredible pull and quite a bit of respect with the players in his old locker room. As for what Irvin could mean if added via trade to the roster? Well, he'd make an immediate impact and would bolster an already improved defense heading into the 2015 season.

ProFootballTalk reported that "a deal could be done during the draft," according to Ledbetter.

We all know how willing Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff is to make a draft day trade, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a potential move that could send Irvin to Atlanta this weekend.
