The Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals went to London and couldn’t decide a winner, ending the game in a tie.

Both the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals were hoping that a trip across the pond was just what the doctor ordered. Each team needed a win entering NFL Week 8 to stay in the hunt in their respective divisions. Of course, that didn’t happen—for either team.

There was very little defense played in this game throughout regulation. Kirk Cousins and rookie running back Robert Kelley were productive for the Redskins offense. Meanwhile, Andy Dalton continuously looked for and found A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert. Moreover, Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill were quite good as well. When the dust settled from the offensive battle, though, it forced overtime.

For whatever reason, the offenses stalled in the extra period. Neither team could get anything of consequence going. And just when it seemed like Washington might break through and hit the game-winning field goal, Marvin Lewis iced Dustin Hopkins. He made the one before the timeout, but missed the one that counted.

While there were more chances, nothing developed for either team. The game in London ended in a 27-27 tie, which helps neither team in the slightest as far as competing in the division goes.

    Three Stars

Kirk Cousins, Redskins – The Washington quarterback threw the ball for a ton of yards. Unfortunately, that didn’t result in many touchdowns or a win. He finished going 38-of-56 for 458 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick.

AJ Green/Tyler Eifert, Bengals – These two were basically the Bengals passing game. They combined for 18 catches on 30 targets and went for a combined 223 yards and one score (Eifert).

Robert Kelley, Redskins – Yes, I know other players had bigger days. However, the rookie running back impressed for Washington in his true debut as a starter. He finished with 21 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown.

    Highlights
