RB Tevin Coleman: 'It's going to be something special, me and Devonta'
While Atlanta Falcons running back was officially named the starter for Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season, the rookie back openly spoke about his partner in the backfield, RB Devonta Freeman. Not only did he speak about Freeman, but he raved about what the duo would be able to do together, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.
"It's going to be something special, me and Devonta,'' Coleman told ESPN. "When we get healthy and we get back, we're going to be dangerous out there. I'm just going to be excited working out there and competing every day with Devonta making me better and me making Devonta better. We're just going to go out there and do what we do.''
While both Freeman and Coleman suffered hamstring injuries during the preseason, Coleman was simply the first to get healthy. He also had a strong showing in Atlanta's preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens, rushing eight times for 56 yards.
Falcons fans are obviously excited to see what the rookie back can do in Week 1, but Coleman makes a good point about the serious damage the two backs could do to opposing defenses together.
Regardless, here's to hoping Coleman and Freeman can create a strong run game for the Dirty Birds.
