Ravens' Harbaugh: 'We're not good enough to win right now'

If the Baltimore Ravens are going to become the first team to make the postseason after a 1-5 start since 1978, they'll need to start winning very soon. Problem is, they're not playing well, and their head coach knows it.

John Harbaugh hasn't been in this situation before as a head coach, nor has the franchise. The Ravens, off to their worst start in team history, have been to the playoffs in six of Harbaugh's seven years in Baltimore. After Sunday's 25-20 loss in San Francisco, the postseason is closer to a pipe dream than a reality.

The thought that the Ravens are just a few breaks away from being 5-1 has to make their stomachs turn. All five of losses came by a total of 22 points, and all five came down to the wire.

“It’s disappointing to lose these close games the way we’re losing them,” Harbaugh said Monday via CBS DC. “The bottom line is we’re not good enough to win them right now."

For the time being, Harbaugh is working hard at making his team good enough to win next Monday in Arizona. Win or lose, his glass-half-full mentality is going nowhere.

"We’ll fight, man. We’ll come out swinging,” he said. “We’ll find a way to win, and we will turn it around. There’s no doubt about it. It’s going to happen, no matter how much some people doubt us.”
