Rams GM: Signing Nick Foles to long-term deal 'realistic'

The Sam Bradford era didn't go as planned for the St. Louis Rams.

With offseason acquisition Nick Foles in the fold, it is their hope he can be the guy for the future. In fact, before Foles has even played a single down for the franchise, Rams' general manager Les Snead thinks a long-term contract could be on the horizon.

"Oh yes, I think it’s definitely realistic," Snead told ESPN. "I think both parties philosophically, us as an organization and ... he’s getting to that point where he wants to focus on football and let’s roll. And hey, let the chips fall where they may."

"I do think he’s excited about what’s around him. He thinks we’ll all be successful and that usually means success for the individual as well."

Foles experienced some success in Philadelphia, compiling a 14-2 record as a starter. His best year came in 2012 when he threw 27 touchdowns to just two interceptions in 13 games (10 starts). However, in 2013, the signal caller was at best average. The Eagles were 6-2 under Foles, but he threw 10 interceptions. His season was cut short after suffering a broken collarbone.

The team had been effusive in its praise of Foles during OTAs, particularly his leadership. But will the Rams get the Foles from 2012 or the Foles from 2013?

They're about to soon find out.
