Raiders won't let unruly fan reputation follow them to L.A.

It's safe to say that Los Angelinos want the Raiders to leave "The Black Hole" behind in Oakland.

Unruly fans took center stage the last time the Silver and Black were in town. But, according to the Los Angeles Times, the Raiders' rag-tag reputation won't prevent relocation whatsoever.

The Times reports the Raiders have already cracked down on fan physicality in advance of a move to Southern California. The team has even revoked season tickets in order to keep their stadium experience a fan-friendly one.

That policy wouldn't fly during the Raiders last run in L.A. In fact, very few fan policies ever dissuaded fans from brawling in the Coliseum stands.

Fights broke out. One visiting Steelers fan was critically injured. And the Coliseum responded with a one-game alcohol sales ban and future beer restrictions.

Carson mayor Al Robles said that environment won't be duplicated if the Raiders relocate once again.

“What happened at the (Los Angeles) Coliseum in the ’80s and ’90s, we’re talking 20, 30 years ago," he said. "It’s a completely different world now compared to then.

Added Robles: There is much more awareness to creating a fan-friendly environment. And I know the Raiders, as are we, are committed to creating one of the safest, if not the safest, stadium experiences in the country."
