The Chiefs desperately need the return of Phillip Gaines to be swift and soon. Andy Reid cannot be trusted to call plays on third-and-short. The Chiefs’ defense is better than any of us expected it to be.

But now, after all of this, where do the Chiefs sit in the AFC? As risers, but not top-tier contenders. But that can change with some more development from Andy Reid and the Chiefs offense.
