The 77-year-old coach resigned last month and was honored at Tuesday's meeting of the Pittsburgh City Council. He was surrounded by friends, relatives and several former players, including Brett Keisel and James Harrison.

LeBeau was coordinator on two Super Bowl champion teams. He spent 56 years in the NFL, including 14 as a defensive back for the Detroit Lions and two coaching stints with the Steelers, sandwiched around a head coaching job with the Cincinnati Bengals.
