Patriots activate RB Vereen from IR

The New England Patriots have activated running back Shane Vereen from the injured reserve-eligible to return list. He was placed on that list Sept. 10 with a left wrist injury.

Vereen is in his third NFL season. A second-round draft pick out of California in 2011, he had his first NFL 100-yard rushing game in the win at Buffalo to open the season when he gained 101 yards on 14 carries.
