It wasn’t as easy as the score may suggest, but the Carolina Panthers were able to put away the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon to win their home opener, 46-27.
The Panthers started the game off solidly scoring 17 first half points and giving up just 10. In the second half Carolina seemed to be in control after going up 24-10 but made a number of miscues to help keep the Niners in it before they put it away for good.
All in all it was a terrific game for the Carolina offense that performed as many expected they would this year and while the defense did have three takeaways, they also allowed a subpar San Francisco offense to put up 27 points and keep it close.

A solid rebound win has the Panthers in good shape to heading forward and while there’s a mix of good and bad to deal with, Carolina has to feel good about where they’re at so early in the season.
