The Green Bay Packers selected Iowa cornerback Micah Hyde with the 159th pick and Mississippi State defensive lineman Josh Boyd with the 167th pick on Saturday in the fifth round of the NFL draft.

After using four of their first five picks of the draft on offense, the Packers dedicated their two fifth-round picks to their 3-4 defensive scheme.

Hyde finished his career at Iowa with 240 tackles and eight interceptions after starting 38 consecutive games for the Hawkeyes. At 6-foot, 197 pounds, Hyde ran a 4.56 in the 40 at the combine.

Green Bay used its compensatory pick at No. 167 on a run stuffer. Boyd, 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, amassed 33 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and 2 1/2 tackles for loss as a senior. He played in 51 games in his career for the Bulldogs and had a team defensive line high of 51 tackles during his junior season.
