Thanksgiving is a day filled with food, family and football. And although the New England Patriots won't be playing on Thursday, Rob Gronkowski vows to show plenty of mental toughness when it comes to inhaling a large amount of food. While he wishes he could eat a whole pie, he'll refrain from doing so, because football.

"We're not going to eat six pounds of turkey," Gronkowski said via Kevin Duffy of MassLive. "I'm not going to, even though I want to. If it was offseason, I'd eat the whole pie."

Gronkowski and the Patriots have dealt with a great deal of injuries this season, but limiting the amount of food they eat is something they'll keep in mind.

"That's mental toughness right there," Gronkowski said. "Right there, baby, knowing that you have that huge pie in front of you and only eating a little piece, even though you want to eat the whole pie. You definitely have to know what your limit is because I know anyone in this locker room could put down six pounds of food right there. Come in the next day a little sluggish. You have to focus on that, and not do that."

Now everyone knows the secret to the Patriots' success: discipline, both on the field and at the dinner table.
