NFL Week 2: Super Bowl 51 odds

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

After Week 1, the betting odds for Super Bowl 51 are changing, though the teams at the top and bottom appear to be staying the same.

For those bettors who are still trying to get rich betting on the Cleveland Browns to win Super Bowl 51, there is still time. The Browns opened up at +20000 to win the big game, and after losing both their Week 1 game and their quarterback, they are still the biggest number on the board.

The usual suspects like Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams are also a big money pick, but it appears all three teams are a waste of a bet in 2016.

The New England Patriots (+700) entered the 2016 season as the second-best pick to win the big one, and even without star quarterback Tom Brady, they somehow moved up to the top spot after Week 1. Jimmy Garoppolo played well in Brady’s absence, and despite the team also missing Rob Gronkowski and two starting tackles, they still manage to pull out a road win against the Arizona Cardinals.

After beating the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers dropped from the top pick to second, but still are a respectable +800. After the Pack, the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers are tied at +850, making them another safe bet. Every other team is going to get you +1000 on your money if you bet before the Week 2 games finish.

A few teams that made huge strides after their Week 1 victories are the New York Giants and Oakland Raiders. The Giants went into Week 1 at +4500, but after a nice showing against the Cowboys, they currently sit at +1400. The Raiders pulled off an improbable win on the road against the Saints, and saw their line go from +6000 to +3300.
