Darrelle Revis has long been a staple as a star in NFL secondaries, but his decline and salary reportedly might lead to another departure from the New York Jets.

The veteran cornerback has a cap number of $15.3 million for the 2017 season and is due a $2 million roster bonus after March 11. That’s why, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the writing is basically on the wall for Revis and the Jets. With that, it feels unlikely that Revis will be back in 2017 for Gang Green as it’s unlikely he’ll take a pay-cut. Then again, perhaps he’ll finally recognize how declining his skills really are and wise up by takin a sure thing to stay with the Jets. Time will tell.
