NFL Head Coach: Robert Griffin III is 'done'

In an interesting exercise, ESPN polled 35 unnamed NFL insiders, and asked them to break down the NFL's 32 projected starting quarterbacks into five tiers. This same idea was performed last season, and Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was ranked the 19th-best quarterback in the third tier.
The anonymous coaches and general managers weren't as kind to Griffin this time around after what was arguably the worst season of his career.
Griffin finished ranked 28th among all quarterbacks and squarely in the fourth tier out of five. In this study, Tier 4 quarterbacks were described as typically unproven starters or those who might not be expected to last in the lineup all season.
Griffin entered 2014 as the team's starter before an ankle injury forced him to miss six straight games. After returning in Week 9, Griffin was later benched during a Week 12 showdown with the 49ers.
One annonymous insider wasn't even willing to put Griffin in that fourth tier:
“Five, and there’s no coming back,” one offensive coach said of Griffin, per Mike Sando of ESPN. “He is done. The reason why is, the injury slowed his legs, and his ego will not allow him to hit rock bottom and actually grind his way back up the right way.”
Voters barely touched the fifth tier at all, and there was no official explanation for what makes up a fifth-tier quarterback.
Earlier this offseason, the Redskins picked up Griffin's fifth-year rookie contract option, but it is only guaranteed for injury. If Griffin struggles through another season, in and out of the starting lineup, it won't be surprising if the team moves on from Griffin for good heading into the 2016 regular season.
