Newest Patriots RB: I can 'help this team win the Super Bowl'

Rookie running back Trey Williams has only been with the New England Patriots for a few days, but he already has big plans with his new team.
Previously with the running back-depleted Dallas Cowboys, Williams wasn't able to carve out a role as a scat back for Jason Garrett. Now with the Patriots, who have had a history of getting the most out of their running backs, Williams trusts his ability and knows he can help New England win another Super Bowl.
"I mean honestly I wasn't able to help with the Cowboys," Williams said via Kevin Duffy of MassLive. "... The Patriots have been doing their thing. Like I said, I can help contribute and help this team win the Super Bowl."
It's unclear what Williams' role will be for the immediate future, but he has a similar skill set to that of the injured Dion Lewis. He has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, as well as the talent to contribute as a return specialist. Lewis had a ton of success before suffering a torn ACL, so there's reason to believe Williams can have a similar impact.
"It's new life for me," Williams said. "I'm adjusting to it. I'm slowly getting there, but I'll be there for sure. I know for a fact I'll stick. I'm just adjusting slowly."
Williams, himself, described himself in a similar way to the way Lewis is talked about.
"I'm a versatile kind of back," he said. "Kick return, a little bit of slot, scatback, that's just my style. I feel like I bring a lot to the team and I can help fill in for pretty much what they need."
Williams will get his first shot with the Patriots on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles' struggling defense. He's not guaranteed to be on the 46-man roster on game day, but there's a good chance of it happening.
