According to Profootballtalk.com via Twitter, Chekwa becomes the 2nd player released by the Dolphins today.
The move is somewhat surprising given the lack of quality veteran depth at the corner position. Chekwa is entering his 5th NFL season.
Miami has struggled this pre-season at the corner position with Tony Lippett struggling as well. The team got Xavien Howard back in time to play the final pre-season game and he is likely to start opposite Byron Maxwell despite missing the entire training camp season.
Chekwa was signed as a free agent this past off-season.
