Martellus Bennett of the Chicago Bears believes he's one of the best tight ends in the NFL. When Arthur Arkush of Chicago Football asked him where he ranks, Bennett did not hesitate to say he's the league's "No. 1" tight end.

"There’s a lot guys who have been playing well for a long time, but it’s just being consistent," Bennett said, via Chicago Football.

Bennett put up career-high statistics in his first season with the Bears. Then, last year, he stepped up his game and topped those first-year figures. Through two seasons in Chicago, Bennett has 155 receptions, 1,675 yards and 11 touchdowns.

But Bennett's not just a specialized pass-catcher. He's also a great run-blocker at 6-foot-6 and 273 pounds, making him one of the best all-around tight ends in the game right now.

Chicago is implementing a new offensive scheme under coordinator Adam Gase, who presided over Julius Thomas' breakout in Denver. Perhaps Gase can have a similar effect on Bennett in 2015.

"I think he's a good player, but our styles are totally different," Bennett said, per Chicago Football, comparing himself to Thomas. "Same thing with any tight end in the league. ... There's a bunch of things I do that they don't do. Or, there are some things, well, there's a bunch of things I do that they don't do -- it's not the other way around."

Although he spent time with two other teams (Cowboys, Giants) before the Bears signed him in 2013, Bennett is still only 28 years old with a bright future ahead of him.
