Marcus Peters' homecoming went better than expected

Marcus Peters had one fashion tip for his father if he wanted to see him play in person.
So, Michael Peters wore black -- and lots of it -- to cover up his son's red jersey at O.Co Coliseum.
“We know how to survive," Marcus Peters told ESPN's Adam Teicher. “When you come to the Black Hole, you’ve got to throw on a little bit of black to survive."
There was a time when Peters hoped he'd throw on a Silver and Black jersey himself. Now, the West Oakland product is squarely on the other side of a heated rivalry.
Peters had one nerve-wrenching start to his Bay Area homecoming. He threw up on the sidelines and committed an unnecessary roughing penalty before settling down.
But hometown fans got a taste of his skills when the nerves subsided. His team-leading fifth interception set the Chiefs up for a go-ahead touchdown.
Peters saved the ball for a pair of outstretched arms on the Raiders' sideline -- his mother's.
“I was just too fired up," Peters said. "I don’t know how to put it into words how glad I am to be from Oakland, California, and to play in front of my hometown."
