Marcus Mariota 'eating up' Tennessee Titans offense

By David Kenyon
The biggest question surrounding Marcus Mariota during the lead-up to the 2015 NFL draft was if the former Oregon star would be able to learn a different style of offense.
Per ESPN’s Paul Kuharsky, Tennessee Titans quarterbacks coach John McNulty said the team hasn’t been forced to slow down in the implementation of the attack, because Mariota has handled it all.
“The fact that we’ve been able to handle it makes it a lot easier,” McNulty said. “There hasn’t been any point where we’ve said, ‘OK guys this is too much.’ He’s been eating it up pretty quickly.”
McNulty also pointed out Mariota’s ability to throw accurate passes while on the run, a credit to the quarterback’s athleticism and talent.
“He can just make those throws without having to get shoulders, feet, hips, everything aligned to make a throw, he can flick the ball to somebody without getting set, on the move and it will hit them right in the face.”
Ken Whisenhunt will continue tailoring the Tennessee offense to fit Mariota’s strengths, which will occasionally involve getting the dual-threat weapon on the move to give him multiple options.
Plus, Mariota has a slew of weapons in Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, Delanie Walker and second-round pick Dorial Green-Beckham, so the Titans should be excited about their future with Mariota under center.
