Lovie Smith on Bucs getting emotional during loss: 'I really like it'
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed us their fire in Week 14. While the outcome was a tough loss to the New Orleans Saints, Lovie Smith and his group not only fought hard, but they played with their emotions on their sleeve throughout the game. Now, if you ask Smith, he's just fine with all of the emotion that came spilling out during Sunday's game.
Via Rick Brown of ESPN:
"I'm always gauging the mood, but it's not a bad thing to be upset after (Sunday)," Smith said Monday. "If you can find somebody who wasn't upset, then we have a problem."
"I have no issues with what happened on our sideline or how everyone reacted to that performance yesterday," Smith said. "That was disappointment. Sometimes in disappointment, emotions come out a little bit. I have no issue with it at all. I really like it."
As Brown points out, Smith himself was even in the defense's face after the Buccaneers went down 14-0. This is just a different team than ones we've seen in the past in Tampa Bay, and that's absolutely a good thing.
