Los Angeles Rams Fall at Home to Buffalo Bills 30-19

After back-to-back wins on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams were feeling confident about Sunday’s home matchup against the Buffalo Bills as Jeff Fisher‘s squad was hoping to remain on top of the NFC West. Instead, the Rams struggled to get anything consistent going on offense against the Bills while making numerous mistakes to fall to 3-2 on the season.

Buffalo picked up their third-straight win after a 30-19 win over Los Angeles on Sunday thanks to a solid performance by LeSean McCoy in the ground game. Even though he failed to find the end zone, McCoy caused all sorts of problems for the Rams’ defense after finishing with 150 rushing yards on just 18 carries.

For whatever reason, Los Angeles just couldn’t find a way to contain McCoy as the defense continues to be inconsistent after their latest disappointing performance against Buffalo. For a team like the Rams to hold the Cardinals to 13 points while playing on the road, only to perform like this while playing at home against the Bills is nothing but frustrating to think about.

With the loss, Los Angeles missed out on a major opportunity to gain a slight lead on the Seattle Seahawks in the division standings.

Case Keenum had made a strong case for keeping the starting job after doing just enough over the previous three games to lead the Rams’ offense, but the quarterback is going to face plenty of criticism after Sunday’s performance. Not only did the veteran quarterback throw two interceptions, and was sacked four times, but Keenum struggled to get the offense in the end zone as Todd Gurley‘s second-quarter score was the lone touchdown of the game for Los Angeles.

To top off the list of frustrations, the Rams failed to convert a fake punt late in the fourth quarter that ended up being the final dagger on what turned out to be a very frustrating loss.

Up next, Los Angeles will hit the road to take on the Detroit Lions, who handed the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season on Sunday. With the way Matthew Stafford looked against the Eagles, let’s hope the Rams’ defense is more prepared than they were against the Bills.

Otherwise, this squad is going to go from being one of the biggest surprise stories to being a complete disappointment.
