Lions release OT LaAdrian Waddle after recent demotion

Published Dec. 15, 2015 6:35 p.m. ET

After losing his starting job, offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle was released by the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

Via Lions senior writer Tim Twentyman:

Waddle, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2013, started 24 games in three seasons with the Lions. Six of those starts came this season, after making a return from a partially torn ACL suffered last December. He was supplanted in the starting lineup by Michael Ola in Week 11.

Waddle, 24, hasn't been very effective since injuring his knee, so his future in the NFL is uncertain.
