Lions' Burleson breaks leg
Detroit Lions receiver Nate Burleson will miss the rest of the season after breaking his right leg during Monday night's 13-7 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Burleson was injured on a hit by Tim Jennings after a 16-yard catch in the third quarter with the Bears leading 13-0.
Losing him is a big blow for the Lions, who have lost four of five.
A starter along with Calvin Johnson, he came into the game with 224 yards receiving.
''That's tough,'' Johnson said. ''We lose a great leader, a captain on the team. Man, I hate it for him that it had to happen to him. I talked to him after the game and he said he is going to be out for some significant time. That's tough because he's an emotional leader, leads by example on the field. He helps us get our energy up so we're going to have to take that over. We got to bring it.''
The Lions lost safety Amari Spievey to a concussion on Monday.
