Lavonte David says team will fix run defense: 'It's that easy'

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a bit of an issue slowing down the run game of the Houston Texans in Week 3. They allowed backup running back Alfred Blue to rush for 139 yards on 31 carries with a touchdown, while giving up a total of 186 yards on the ground.

All-in-all, it was a rough showing for Tampa Bay's run defense, but fortunately linebacker Lavonte David believes it'll be a small fix, according to Andrew Astleford of ESPN.

"It's small things, very small things that have to be easily fixed," David told ESPN Monday. "And we're going to get it fixed. It's that easy. Most guys understand and realize we can't let that happen anymore. We won't have another game like that again."

David continued, talking about the importance of simply playing in position.

"We're playing fast, but sometimes, we're getting out of position," David said. "Once we add that playing fast [part], plus get in our position, I think we'll be a lot better."

Fortunately, David believes that once the team can get set and playing in the right position, he's more than just slightly confident that things will get turned around.

"Once we get that situated -- it's a real easy fix, really, really, very, very easy fix -- it's going to be fixed right away," David said. "That's the thing you can look forward to."

The Buccaneers are set to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, and we know that both Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart can do damage on the ground, so it'll be interesting to see how this unit responds.
