Las Vegas: The Giants are becoming less favored against Baltimore

Ask any Vegas insider and you’ll get the same answer. Pessimism spreads around the New York Giants concerning the strength of the team in the last few weeks.

Giants favored to win by more than slightly over the coming days

The Vegas line look as such: with the Giants only slightly favored in Sunday’s game.

This status update will follow the Vegas line as the week progresses culminating on Sunday morning. On balance, the two teams have mediocre records inverse of each other after Week 5. Baltimore has been a strong defensively and the Giants have to put trust in their offense to outmuscle the opposition. In their 2014 season, they allowed 35 less touchdowns and approximately 340 fewer yards.

Other factors that account for the only slight advantage this Sunday is the failed comeback against their northern division foes Green Bay Packers . That as well as the media explosion of controversy around the Giants offensive line and typical lip service to the Giants battered secondary.

Over the next several days, you can expect these numbers to fluctuate depending on some factors. One critical factor is if head coach Ben McAdoo’s offensive line congeals in practice sessions to debunk last weeks promise of total and complete preparation for Mike McCarthy’s Packers.

Another factor is the Ravens history of a lack of success against the Giants whenever these two teams meet. The Giants have not faced the Ravens last season but when they did, the Giants showed toughness.
