Julio Jones earns NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors

When you have the type of game that Julio Jones did in the Week 16 upset of the Carolina Panthers, there's no surprise that he earned an honor from the NFL. The stellar wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons finished up the day with nine catches for 178 yards and a touchdown, which was a 70-yard score.
In turn, Jones was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 16, according to Conor Orr of NFL.com.
Jones also now puts himself in position to at least have an outside shot at breaking Marvin Harrison's record for receptions in a season. He could also potential break Calvin Johnson's single-season yardage record as well.
While both are long shots, what Jones has been able to do this season for the Falcons is nothing short of amazing. If there was ever any questioning about exactly how good Jones is, it's obvious that he's by far one of, if not the best wide receiver out there.
Antonio Brown may have something to say about that, but for now at least, Jones is earning all the praise that's being sent in his direction.
