John Spanos says he's really not interested in moving the Chargers

John Spanos isn't interested in taking a new stance on relocation as he takes over the family business.

So, as he transitions into power as the San Diego Chargers' new president of football operation, Spanos is walking the company line about Los Angeles, San Diego, and leaving town.

Via Judson Richards of Xtra 1360 Fox Sports:

"There’s so many moving parts, and it’s been a really long journey and a really long process. But at the end of the day, we all sat down and talked, and we looked at it and said this is our home. This is where we want to be. And we have a unique opportunity to get something done. Ideally, this is our home forever."

That's what Spanos and his father, Dean, have maintained all along. An extra $100 million from the league could help speed the process of staying put along.

Meanwhile, the Spanoses have reportedly purchased Orange County land for a new training facility, trademarked the "Los Angeles Chargers" name, struck a stadium deal with L.A. Rams owner Stan Kroenke, and commenced the process of distancing their brand from San Diego itself.
