Jets' Wilkerson has turf toe, expects to miss MNF

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson has a turf toe injury that won't require surgery, but he expects to miss Monday night's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Wilkerson says Friday he's still in a walking boot and his left big toe was heavily wrapped. The injury occurred in the Jets' 38-3 loss to Buffalo last Monday night, and Wilkerson is uncertain when he will be able to play.

He says the game against Miami will likely be the first he has ever missed at any level of football.

Wilkerson, who leads the team with 4 1/2 sacks, was hurt midway through the second quarter against Buffalo when his foot got stuck in the turf. He came back briefly, but then sat out the entire second half.
