The New York Jets are interested in Zac Stacy and have inquired with the St. Louis Rams about the running back, according to a report.

Stacy is now third on the Rams’ running back depth chart behind first-round pick Todd Gurley and last season’s leading rusher Tre Mason.

After the Rams drafted Gurley No. 10 overall, Stacy tweeted “yikes” and later deleted the tweet. Reports said he planned to ask the team to trade or release him.

The New York Daily News says the Jets have reached out to the Rams to inquire about the back. The Jets have Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell on the roster at running back and could use an explosive player. Though Stacy doesn’t really qualify in that regard, he could add more depth and experience to the team.
