Jets' Cromartie active vs. Steelers

Published Oct. 13, 2013 6:15 p.m. ET

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie started against the Pittsburgh Steelers after a knee injury late in the week made his status uncertain.

Cromartie was questionable for the game Sunday after hyperextending a knee in practice Thursday, and an MRI exam revealed the injury to be not as serious as initially feared.

Steelers offensive tackle Levi Brown, acquired last week from Arizona, injured his right triceps during pregame warmups and is out for the game. Kelvin Beachum started at left tackle for the Steelers.

Wide receiver Santonio Holmes and cornerback Dee Milliner are both out with hamstring injuries. Quarterback Brady Quinn is also among the team's inactive players.

With Kellen Winslow Jr., suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing drugs, tight end Zach Sudfeld is active for the first time.

Demoted Steelers offensive tackle Mike Adams is among Pittsburgh's inactives. Left guard Ramon Foster (left pectoral muscle) started.
