Jeff Saturday: Thin chance he plays

It’s hasn’t taken on Newtonian proportions — the massive weight loss of former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Nate Newton — but recently retired center Jeff Saturday is a much smaller version of himself these days.
A photo posted on Twitter (seen above) by Indianapolis Star photographer Matt Kryger shows the difference in Saturday from his 300-pound days with the Indianapolis Colts (and a last season with the Green Bay Packers in 2012) and how svelte he is these days.
The before and after photos clearly demonstrate why talk about his coming back to the NFL this year — to Denver with old teammate Peyton Manning after the Broncos lost their center — was quickly squashed. Saturday, now a commentator for ESPN, would need to pack back on the 70 pounds he’s lost.
