Jaguars at Chiefs Recap, Highlights, Final Score, More
It wasn’t pretty, but the Kansas City Chiefs held on to take down the Jacksonville Jaguars at Arrowhead Stadium in NFL Week 9.

With Nick Foles starting at quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in place of a concussed Alex Smith, the propensity for their NFL Week 9 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars to be ugly was unavoidable. And the game certainly started off as a bit of a snoozer with four-straight punts. However, Brian Walters fumbled on that fourth punt, giving KC fantastic field position. Foles found Albert Wilson to take the lead.
There was more ugliness that ensued including turnover on downs and an interception on the Jaguars’ next two drives. The pick resulted in a field goal for the Chiefs. However, Blake Bortles led a drive at the end of the first half to make it interesting, finding Allen Robinson on a one-yard touchdown after an 11-play, 88-yard drive, making it 10-7 Chiefs at half.
Turnovers, missed field goals, and general ineffectiveness stayed with the Jaguars in the second half, though. Foles and Kansas City weren’t able to do too much, but did drive enough to get three field goals. Bortles added his obligatory touchdown pass down 19-7 to make the game manageable and even got the ball back with a chance to drive and win it. That drive stalled, though, and Jacksonville turned the ball over on downs one final time to end the game and give the Chiefs the win at Arrowhead.
Three Stars
Nick Foles, Chiefs – No, Foles wasn’t a superstar by any stretch as he filled in for Alex Smith. However, he avoided any turnovers, was efficient with his throws and even found the end zone on the day. He finished 20-of-33 for 187 yards and the score.
Allen Robinson, Jaguars – It was refreshing to see AR-15 finally get work that wasn’t garbage time. The star for Jacksonville was targeted 11 times by Blake Bortles and finished with seven catches for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Dee Ford, Chiefs – Ford continues to be one of the pleasant surprises of 2016 and was a force against the Jags. He finished the night with three tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits.
