Injury update: Rams QB Davis expected to start; 49ers TE Davis expected out

The St. Louis Rams are expected to start quarterback Austin Davis over Shaun Hill against the Cowboys on Sunday, FOX Sports 1 Insider Mike Garafolo and other media report.

Davis also got the nod against Tampa Bay last week, completing 22 of 29 passes for 235 yards with no interceptions in his first career NFL start. He led the Rams to a 19-17 win over the Buccaneers.

In other injury news, San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is expected to be sidelined with his ankle injury and is not expected to play Sunday against the Cardinals, FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo reports.
