Inactives: Oakland Raiders vs. Atlanta Falcons

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Inactives players for both the Oakland Raiders and Atlanta Falcons in their Week 2 matchup.

As the Raiders look to start 2-0 for the first time since 2002, they’ll have to overcome an injury to a starter on the offensive line to do it.

Menelik Watson will be out against the Falcons, as he still nurses a groin injury suffered in Week 1. Austin Howard will be the starter.

Given that Watson has largely been unhealthy throughout his career, it won’t be that much of a setback. Especially considering Howard started the entire season in 2015.

Other inactives for Oakland include: Connor Cook, Antonio Hamilton, Dexter McDonald and Mychal Rivera.

On the opposing sideline, rookies LB De’Vondre Campbell and S Keanu Neal are out with injury, as is DE Brooks Reed.

Atlanta’s other inactives are RB Terron Ward, G Mike Person, G Wes Schweitzer, TE Joshua Perkins.

Here is the Raiders injury report from the week.

NAME POSITION INJURY WED. THU. FRI. GAME STATUS
Howard, Austin T Ankle FP FP FP
Hudson, Rodney C Knee DNP LP FP Questionable
Jackson, Gabe G Knee DNP LP FP Questionable
Jones, Taiwan RB Concussion DNP LP FP Questionable
McCants, Matt OL Knee DNP DNP DNP Doubtful
Watson, Menelik T Groin DNP DNP DNP Doubtful

McCants and Watson missed practice every day during the week, so them being ruled out is no surprise.

No other plays that appeared on Oakland’s injury report are out, so the rest of the inactives are healthy scratches.

Here is the Falcons injury report from the week.

NAME POSITION INJURY WED. THU. FRI. GAME STATUS
Campbell, De’Vondre OLB Ankle LP DNP Out
Freeman, Devonta RB Quadricep LP FP FP
Freeney, Dwight DE Non-Injury Related DNP FP FP
Jones, Julio WR Ankle LP LP FP
Neal, Keanu S Knee DNP DNP DNP Out
Reed, Brooks OLB Shoulder DNP DNP LP Questionable
Sanu, Mohamed WR Ankle LP LP FP

Campbell and Neal were ruled out already prior to game day, so both players clearly were nowhere close to being able to go.

Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu were limited in practice during the week, but it was always expected both would be ready to play, and that is what will happen.

Go Raiders.
