Greg Jennings is the teacher and the student in first year with Dolphins

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Greg Jennings enters his first season with the Miami Dolphins after coming over from the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. Jennings will be leading a young and talented receiving group both on and off the field. While his role remains to be defined, Jennings is confident that he will able to make a positive contribution.
"I know I'm going to be productive," Jennings said. "My mindset of what production is doesn't always correlate to statistics — that's the difference."
In 2014 Jennings caught 59 passes for 742 yards and six touchdowns with the Vikings. While his best years may be behind him, Jennings knows that part of the reason he was brought in is to serve as a mentor for the young wideouts on the roster. However, even though he has the most experience among the wideouts on the roster, he isn't immune to learning from them.
"I've always felt like I had a teaching role, and I've always felt like I've postured myself as a student as well," said Jennings. "You know, I tell the young guys too, it's not a one-way street. I'm not the only teacher in this room. We have coaches, we have players that are very smart. I can learn from each and every one of those guys if I really posture myself to learn."
While he is expected to be a leader for the wideouts, he is also looked at as a leader to the rest of the his new teammates as well.
"You learn from him just by the way he carries himself," defensive back Michael Thomas said. "You know, he's a natural-born leader. He doesn't have to come in and say, 'Hey guys, I'm a vet, I'm proven winner, you know, I'm a champion.' You just see it. The way he carries himself, the way he practices on the field, it makes you want to play better for him."
The Dolphins are hoping that Jennings can also provide quarterback Ryan Tannehill with a reliable target on offense and allow him to take the next step as the team's franchise quarterback.
