Greatest Show on Turf foursome among 25 Hall of Fame semifinalists

Four players who helped the St. Louis Rams evolve into the Greatest Show on Turf were among 25 semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016.

Quarterback Kurt Warner, wide receivers Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt and offensive tackle Orlando Pace made the list comprised of 22 players and three coaches, including Don Coryell, who spent five seasons guiding the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1970s.

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre and wide receiver Terrell Owens headline the class, which will be trimmed to 15 modern-era finalists in January.

Bruce spent all but the final two seasons of his 16-year career with the Rams, finishing with 1,024 receptions and eight 1,000-yard seasons. Holt, who was a rookie when St. Louis won the Super Bowl following the 1999 season, had eight straight 1,000-yard campaigns en route to 920 catches.

Warner authored one of the most improbable stories in league history during the Super Bowl-winning season. Inheriting the starting job when Trent Green was hurt in the preseason, he threw for 4,353 yards and 48 touchdowns en route to winning the first of his two MVP awards.

Pace spent 12 of his 13 seasons with the Rams, earning first-team All-Pro honors three times while being named to the Pro Bowl in seven consecutive seasons (1999-2005).
