Officers Wenjian Liu, Rafael Ramos were "assassinated" -- as NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton put it -- in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn on Saturday. This came in the wake of protests following the death of Staten Island man Eric Garner, who was killed during an altercation with police July 17 in which an illegal chokehold was used.
