Former Irish, C.J. Prosise, Plays Major Role in Seahawks Win Over Patriots

Former Notre Dame running back, C.J. Prosise made his first NFL start known for the Seattle Seahawks.
With hands down his best performance of the 2016 season, the rookie running back may have finally surpassed Christine Michael for the top back in Seattle. With his 153 combined yards, Prosise took his first NFL start by storm.
In one of the best games of Week 10 in the NFL, the Seahawks and Patriots faced off for the first time since Super Bowl XLIX. With Week 10 being one of the best weeks of NFL football in 2016, it’s hard to say this game was the best game of the week. It very well could have been, though. At the forefront of this heated battle was two offenses with surprising stars.
Prosise lead the Seahawks in both rushing and receiving yards as the Seahawks offense scored 31 points. Although Prosise didn’t score, he seemed to be involved in every offensive play Seattle ran.
As the season progresses, head coach Pete Carrol says Prosise will see an extended role in the offense. With running back Thomas Rawls returning from injury, the Seattle backfield is going to be a bit crowded.
That shouldn’t stop Prosise from excelling, though. He’s already proven his worth as a pass-catcher and is continuing to become a dominant ground attack. If Rawls doesn’t take over the lead role when he’s back, Prosise could work his way into the feature back for the Seahawks.
The future is definitely bright for this former Irishman. With his versatility in the passing game, and growing ability to run between the tackles, Prosise is headed for a successful career in the NFL.
