Fernando Velasco returns to Tennessee

Veteran center Fernando Velasco is headed back to Tennessee.
On Tuesday, the Titans announced the signing Velasco in a move to provide depth along the offensive line. The 30-year-old Velasco played in 49 games over four seasons for Tennessee between 2009-2012, including starting all 16 games in 2012. Velasco played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers the last two seasons. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman started seven games for Carolina in 2014.
The signing provides immediate help for the Titans who are currently without the top two centers on their roster, Brian Schwenke and Andy Gallick. Both players sat out Monday's OTA practice with strained hamstrings.
To make room for Velasco on the roster, the Titans placed cornerback Brandon Harris in injured reserve. Harris tore his ACL during OTAs last week.
