Even after multiple additions, Bersin still very alive in WR battle

To say that the Carolina Panthers upgraded this offseason at the wide receiver position would be a major understatement. Not only did the team draft Devin Funchess, bring back Ted Ginn Jr. and sign Jarrett Boykin to pair with Kelvin Benjamin, but they also return Stephen Hill and Corey Brown as well.

So, does that leave Brenton Bersin as the odd man out? Not according to David Newton of ESPN.

"Don’t bet against Bersin, who last season became the first Wofford player to make an NFL roster since team owner Jerry Richardson played for the NFL champion Baltimore Colts in 1959." Newton explained.

It also doesn't hurt when the head coach loves the work that you do on the field either.

"Bersin has done a great job for us," Carolina coach Ron Rivera told ESPN. "He's one of the guys that is very consistent. I like what he brings to the table, a very smart, heady football player who can play all three of our positions for us."
