Eagles WR Josh Huff to play in preseason finale
After missing time this training camp due to minor injuries and more recently the death of a close friend, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff has fallen behind in a crowded wide receiver corps. On Thursday, in the Eagles' preseason finale, he will return to the field, per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
At the start of training camp, Huff operated as one of two starting outside wide receivers with the first team offense. He rarely rotated out of that spot. As training camp has moved forward, he has ceded opportunities on the outside to rookie Nelson Agholor.
The rookie has not disappointed. He has put even more pressure on Huff through his impressive production in practices and games. Agholor is not without his rookie faults, however, and some of his mistakes have been apparent during live game action.
Huff is also competing for regular season snaps with veteran Miles Austin who has recently seen action with Sam Bradford and the first team offense. If Huff can put together a strong fourth preseason game, he will work his way back into the mix. It is looking like a full blown rotation at wide receiver at least to begin the 2015 season, and Jordan Matthews will see the most snaps.
