Dolphins LBs Misi, Jenkins miss practice; likely to be game-time calls

The Miami Dolphins have struggled against the run all season, allowing the second-most yards per game (135.6) in the NFL. When the Dallas Cowboys come to town on Sunday, things could get even worse.

Linebackers Koa Misi and Jelani Jenkins both missed practice on Thursday and are question marks to play against the Cowboys this week.

“Both of them will probably be a game-time decision,” head coach Dan Campbell said, via Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. “I’d say Koa is a little bit better at this point. But we’re optimistic about both."

Misi is dealing with an abdomen injury, while Jenkins has an ankle injury that he suffered last week. In light of both of these injuries, the Dolphins signed James-Michael Johnson to the 53-man roster this week, and he'll likely see time on the field against Dallas.

“They know I can play any linebacker position,” Johnson said. “I’ve been in a 3-4, Mike, Sam and Will. I wouldn’t pigeonhole myself into one position.”

Flexibility is something the Dolphins could certainly use given the rash of injuries at linebacker, so Johnson will be a valuable guy to have on the roster having started 18 games in four seasons.
